Iran J Child Neurol. 2013 Summer; 7(3):23-27. ObjectiveAccording to the basic role of drug side effects in selection ofan appropriate drug, patient compliance and the quality of life inepileptic patients, and forasmuch as new dugs with unknown side effect have been produced and introduced, necessity of this research and similar studies is explained. This study was conducted to evaluate the incidence and clinical characteristics of anti epileptic drug (AED) related adverse reactions in children treated with AEDs.Material & MethodsIn this descriptive study, children less than 14 years old with AEDside effects referred to the Children’s Medical Center and MofidChilderen’s Hospital (Tehran, Iran) were evaluated during 2010-2012.The informations were: sex, age, incriminating drug, type of drug side effect, incubation period, history of drug usage, and patient and family allergy history. Exclusive criterions were age more than 14 years old and reactions due to reasons other than AEDs (Food, bite, non-AEDs, etc.).ResultsA total of 70 patients with AED reaction were enrolled in thisstudy. They included 26 (37%) females and 44 (63 %) males. The maximum rate of incidence was seen at age less than 5 years old. All the patients had cutaneous eruptions that the most common cutaneous drug eruption was maculopapular rash. The incidence of systemic and laboratory adverse events was less than similar studies. The most common culprit was phenobarbital (70%) and the least common was lamotrigine (1.4%).ConclusionIn this study, we found higher rates of drug rash in patients treated with aromatic AEDs and lower rates with non-aromatic AEDs. Various endogenous and environmental factors may influence the propensity to develop these reactions. Refrences1. Blume WT, Lu¨ders HO, Mizrahi E, et al. Negotiation Processes: Tactics of Preparing a Successful Negotiation

    Get PDF
Negotiation is a fast-paced activity. That is, the negotiation process is evaluated and changed throughout the process, from beginning to end. Before taking any action or retaliating, both sides consider their own interests and aims in order to analyze their own and the other's positions. These judgments and estimations are frequently susceptible to change during the negotiation process. The fresh information that comes in must be categorized and assessed. The dialogue's complexity and difficulty stems from its dynamic and variable nature. If each negotiation has three stages: preparation, advancement and leadership, negotiation, and conclusion, the stage of preparing for the negotiation in advance to accomplish the desired result in a successful negotiation will be very significant and effective. Therefore, in this article, some hints are given as to how to prepare for a successful negotiation by using strategies and tactics

Abstract In this paper we introduce the class of P-contraction mappings, analogous to the concept of C-contraction Mathematics Subject Classification: 47H10, 54H2

New fixed point results in b-rectangular metric spaces

In this work, the class of b-rectangular metric spaces is introduced, some fixed point results dealing with rational type contractions and almost generalized weakly contractive mappings are obtained. Certain examples are given to support the results

Weak Wardowski contractive multivalued mappings and solvability of generalized phi-Caputo fractional snap boundary inclusions

In this paper, we introduce the notion of weak Wardowski contractive multivalued mappings and investigate the solvability of generalized '-Caputo snap boundary fractional differential inclusions. Our results utilize some existing results regarding snap boundary fractional differential inclusions. An example is given to illustrate the applicability of our main results

In this paper, we present a common fixed point result for a pair of mappings defined on a b-metric space, which satisfies quasi-contractive inequality with nonlinear comparison functions. An application in solving a class of integral equations will support our results

Effect of Developing Pragmatic Competence through Telecollaboration on Improving English as Foreign Language Learners’ Writing Proficiency

The very information structure of written communication depends not just on the writer’s meaning and purpose but rather on the extent to which writer and reader share knowledge of pragmatic features of the language. To assess the actual effect of developing target language pragmatic competence through telecollaboration on improving English as Foreign Language learners’ target language writing proficiency, the current study was conducted on 60 Iranian learners of English at Razi Petrochemical Company in Iran. The study enjoyed a true experimental design by random assignment of participants to two equal groups, one group merely receiving writing instruction while the other being linked to target language speakers besides receiving writing instruction, and by administering three writing tasks immediately before intervention, immediately following intervention, and two months following intervention. The results of between-within subjects analysis of variance indicated that language learners who were linked to target language speakers not only demonstrated a better performance in writing according to the pragmatic features of target language following the intervention but also maintained their obtained knowledge to a greater extent than language learners who did not have contact with target language speakers. The pedagogical implications of the findings suggested providing opportunities for language learners in English as Foreign Language contexts to be virtually linked to target language speakers through telecollaboration. Further generalizations of the Ishikawa algorithm

We provide an iterative algorithm for fixed point issues in vector spaces in the paragraphs that follow. We demonstrate that, compared to the Ishikawa technique in Banach spaces, the iterative algorithm presented in this study performs better under weaker conditions. In order to achieve this, we compare the convergence behavior of iterations, and taking into account a few offered cases, we support the major findings
